～夫婦面について～
これらの面は、狐の嫁入りに使用される対のお面です。
タイトルにもある通り、オリジナルデザインでなく、山口県は下松市花岡にて毎年11月に催される「稲穂祭」のきつねの嫁入りで用いられているお面の非公式レプリカ面です。（ただし、デザインには一部アレンジを加えました。）
この「稲穂祭」で狐の夫婦役を演じる人は、毎年極秘で決められて行われるそうです。
演じた二方は不思議と良縁に恵まれるという謂われもあるといいます。
当然ながら現物のお面が手に入らないため、公式写真集や参加者の皆さまによるお写真などを元に作られています。
-About Meoto Masks-
These are unofficial replica masks based on fox masks of Inaho-Matsuri.
They stand for a bride and a groom, i.e., the white fox is a bride and the gold fox is a groom.
"Inaho-Matsuri" is one of traditional festivals in Yamaguchi pref. It's a kind of "Kitsune no Yomeiri (fox's wedding parade)". At this parade, a pair of unmarried man and woman is chosen to wear the fox masks beforehand, but participants never know the faces under the mask.
Though there are so many traditional fox masks in Japan, I believe these are some of the most beautiful and that's why I copied them. The photo on the book cover (the 5th pic) is the original mask and a mask which is placed right hand is my own work. They were made only based on pictures.
